2023 Dao Prize for Excellence in Investigative Journalism

Matt Taibbi won the 2023 Dao Grand Prize, $100,000, with Michael Shellenberger and Bari Weiss for their Twitter Files. You can find them here.

Taibbi has written multiple books, and is the New York Times Bestselling author of Hate, Inc., Insane Clown President and the Divide. He is also a Rolling Stone writer.

In 2022 till 2023, Taibbi made headlines for breaking the news of The Twitter Files—a set of internal Twitter documents—in a riveting investigative series on the platform itself.

He has received the National Magazine Award for his columns in Rolling Stone, as well as a Sidney Award for his article, The Great American Bubble Machine.
